Number One Baby!! This is my first attempt at making a blog (?). I have written two books: The Greenhorn, an Odyssey, and Davy Thomas Westward, the Women. They are the first two books in a trilogy.

So, for the first time, I goofed. I am an 80-year-old brand-new author trying to get my name out there. Both books have been published by Amazon. They are available in paperback, Kindle, and Kindle Unlimited (at no cost to the reader). The Greenhorn has a hardbound edition.

The Greenhorn chronicles the life of Davy Thomas, from his father's farm in Ohio to his adoption by a mountain man who teaches him the skills to survive in a hostile environment. He marries an Indian maiden, they have a child, and tragedy will befall him. He searches for his son and becomes a lawman in a cow town. One reviewer called it a good read.

My second book has Davy Thomas leading a wagon train of women to become brides of miners in California. He finds evil there.

I retired and read a lot. I taught in public and private schools for forty years. I was a math teacher, though my major in College was History. I have four books in some form or another being written. I discovered that I had stories rolling around in my mind, and I started putting them down. I wrote a book titled Lilith. She was in the Garden of Eden with Adam before Eve. She was asked to leave. She connects with a partner and avenges battered and abused women and children. It is getting a thorough rewrite. It is better than that sounds. I have almost completely completed a novelette about two southern boys and a Yankee boy. Fighting on separate sides. It is a story of growth and determination. I think it might have a companion novelette about an Arizona Ranger who becomes a bounty hunter to avenge his wife, who was murdered. The third book of my Davy Thomas Trilogy in about Indian relations in California in the years following statehood.

A very good friend of mine ran marathons, even at an age when people are finding a rocking chair. He spoke of a runner's high. That when he was running 26 miles he would reach a higher plane. I find that I have writer's high. I write and I get so excited I come out of my shoes. I'll use this blog to pass on things I find interesting or whatever. In June, I am going to Montana with my sister who is 70+ years old. It'll be a great adventure. I will try not to bring politics in but America was always great, we didn't need a jackass to tell otherwise. Thank you for your patience. Leave a light on for me.
